Still
in the country Chicken Picken’ mode, here’s a kick ass “tag”, or ending riff.
Finish the flat riff, hit a low G note on the low E string followed by a G chord
and then: E— B— G—------------0----------0 D—0-H2-H3---P3-P2-0 A—-------------------------1 E—---------------------------3Now
this one’s tricky as it’s all in the timing. This riff actually begins on the
“and” of 4 The first three hammer-ons are 8th notes. The open G string is plucked
by the third finger, not the pick (this is how Telecaster players get that “Pop.”)
The next three pull-offs are 16th notes, followed once again by the finger-plucked
open G. The B flat note on the A string is picked right on the beat and held for
a full quarter note (It’s kind of cool to put a slight bend on this note.) The
riff ends with the low G note. |
