Guitar Rigs of the Gods, Part
5. It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention the rig of one of the Gods of Tele-pickin’
country music, John Jorgenson. Like most Nashville cats, John prefers to run an
all stomp box rig. He begins with a G&L ASAT (read: Telecaster) and runs into
a Boss RV-2 (reverb), a Boss DD-2, (digital delay) a Boss DC-2 (digital chorus),
and 2 Ibanez Tube Screamers, a TS-808 and a-TS 5. (He uses 2 tube screamers because
there are no pre-sets available on these boxes, i.e.’, he sets one for a certain
effect and the other for s different one. For an amp, he uses a Matchless SC-300
or a John Jorgenson JJ-30 (Neither of these great amps have an on-board reverb.) |
